Matt Guy defeats Jason Scott in "OctoberFest" Singles Championship

The #1 player in the world, Matt Guy, took care of business in the Singles tournament. Matt defeated John Bare, Chad Maggard, his son Brett Guy, and defeated Jason Scott in the final. Matt lost one game to 21 in a best of three series to Jason Scott, but went on to win the series and the "KBC OctoberFest" singles championship.
Jason Scott from Owensboro, KY finished second and continues to show major promise with his play in the last month. Jason finished third at the "KBC Classic" on September 20th. He defeated Rob Russell, Matt Grimes, and defeated Stuart Baird twice. Jason was knocked out of the winner's bracket by Matt Guy and then later defeated by Matt again in the finals.
Stuart Baird from Charlestown, IN finished third in a solid overall performance in singles competition. Stuart defeated Greg Ramsier, Jake Adkins, Chad Maggard, and Brett Guy. Stuart was defeated by Jason Scott twice, that eventually eliminated him from the tournament.
Other players of note in the singles tournament that had good performances were Gary Burton, Bret Guy, and Chad Maggard.

Brent Glass and David Glass wins Social Doubles Division at KBC OctoberFest
Brent and David Glass from Shepherdsville, KY went undefeated in Round Robin play and advanced to a five team single elimination bracket. Brent and David received a bye and then went on to defeat Richard Thompson and Jeanelle Floyd from Jeffersonville, IN to take the title. Brent and David went undefeated and showed all the signs to be ready for the competitive doubles division at the next tournament.
Richard Thompson and Jeanelle Floyd from Jeffersonville, IN finished second and went 4-2 in Round Robin play and came out as the second seed in Pool B. They defeated the #1 seed from Pool A to make it to the finals against Brent and David Glass.
Other teams of note in the social doubles division that had good performances were Daniel Crowder & Ed Hack, Bernard Sickles & Jerry Gibson, Bobby Bullington & Rob Maren, and Allen Hoyt & Thomas Taylor.

Chad Maggard put up the second highest Skill Challenge score at the event. Maggard scored a 97.00, which ranks him as a pro and #22 in the world.

Matt Guy and Bret Guy defeated Tony Hankins and Mike Alvey in the finals of the competitive doubles division. Matt and Bret did not lose a match in the tournament. Matt Guy continues to show why he is the best in the world, displaying an array of shots when needed. Bret Guy, who already is a very good player, looks to be as good as his Dad, if not better, in the near future.
The defending champs of the KBC Classic, Mike Alvey and Tony Hankins, finished second place. Mike and Tony were defeated twice by Matt and Brett, once in the winner's bracket and in the finals. Mike and Tony continue to be one of the top doubles teams in the area.
Jason Scott and John Bare finished third and had an overall record of 5-2. Their two losses came against Matt and Bret and Mike and Tony. Jason and John won 5 straight games in the losers bracket before being defeated in the championship of the losers bracket.
